Closing/Winterizing Kits Now Available

How you treat your pool in the winter months will have a big effect on spring opening. Winterize correctly and you’ll have a much easier time when it comes to opening your pool for the next fun swimming season.

We have the BioGuard® Winter kits (12 and 24) and related products you need to properly close your pool.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Make sure your water is clean and balanced -- follow instructions for balancing your water to make sure total alkalinity, pH, calcium hardness, and sanitizer levels are in proper ranges.
  2. Bring in a water sample to our store for testing.
  3. Get your BioGuard Winter Kit from us - circulate water for at least 24 hours
  4. Also ask us about filter cleaning chemicals as well as water line antifreeze and other items you might need.
  5. Clean your pool thoroughly, brushing and vacuuming walls and floors.
  6. Lower the water level in your pool to the recommended level
  7. Blow out your water lines carefully so freezing water doesn't break any plumbing or fixtures.
  8. Pull the cover over your pool and secure it!

Ask us for help with any step. The more care you take with your closing, the better and easier it will be to open the pool in the spring.
